A rugby league player helps an elderly man whose disabled daughter is stuck in an SUV. After listening to the man's concerns, the player calls his sons for help. They arrive quickly and successfully resolve the situation. This act of kindness highlights the player's character and his impressive career with the Panthers.
There are some nice people you meet along the way. Rugby league player antics off the field sometimes make headlines for all the wrong reasons, But one former Penrith Panther's good deed at the Lenox Center at Nu Plains deserves to be recognized. The nineties era player showed a lot of concern for an elderly gentleman on a walker in the car park of the center, just on dusk ear, right mate, the player called out to the, obviously he's distressed old felon. Are you a strong man? The gentleman on the walker replied, oh yes. In my time, the 50 plus year old former footballer replied, the old fellow then described the problem he faced. His disabled daughter had slipped and become stuck between the front and back seats of his SUV as he attempted to help her into her wheelchair. He also explained his daughter was age 58 and had communication problems. She also weighs 89 kilos, and we just can't move her. He said the former Panther had a go at solving the problem, but failed and suggested an ambulance be called to which the old fella vehemently objected. Okay, the player said, I'll call my boys. They're just down the road. He called. He helped the elderly gentleman calm their daughter. Two of his sons strapping young sportsmen both arrived and within a few minutes, problem solved. Incidentally, the player concern played all his career with the Panthers from the SG ball.
